About Us

The American Lung Association's mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. We do this through education, advocacy, and research. For 120 years, people living in America have trusted us to protect their lungs, whether it's researching treatments and cures for lung diseases, keeping kids off tobacco, including e-cigarettes, or advocating for laws that protect the air we all breathe.

Our goals are big—defeat lung cancer, create a tobacco-free future, champion clean air for all, and improve the quality of life for those living with lung disease because when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.

In Los Angeles, we host yearly events such as our signature Fight for Air Climb corporate wellness challenge, virtual town halls, cause marketing campaigns and Turquoise Takeover leadership campaign! There are so many ways to engage your business through Sponsorship, Corporate and Family Teams and Volunteer Engagement. You may also choose to become a Leadership volunteer to make a personal impact on lung disease and healthy air.
